Photography Popup #1
Our first IndieWeb popup event to share photos, talk about how we publish them on our own sites, and trade practical photography workflows.
Join us for a relaxed conversation about photography: taking and editing photos, sharing them on our own sites, and keeping them findable in the long run.
We’ll start with quick introductions, then do a round of “show & tell” and open discussion. You’re welcome to bring:
- A photo (or small set) you’ve recently published or want to publish
- A question about your photo workflow (editing, export, file naming, backups, etc.)
- A question about integrating photos into your personal site (galleries, posts, feeds, IndieWeb tools)
No slides or formal talks required. Lurking and listening is also completely fine.
Possible topics
- Phone vs camera workflows for the open web
- Export settings, formats, and responsive images for blogs and galleries
- Captions, alt text, and how to add context without overwhelming the image
- Archiving, backups, and keeping old photos discoverable
- IndieWeb-adjacent tools: blogs, photo logs, and photo-focused microsites
Who this is for
Anyone who:
- Takes photos and wants more control over how they appear online
- Wants to use their personal website (or start one) as a home for photography
- Is curious how others in the IndieWeb community manage their photo workflow
All skill and experience levels are welcome, from “I mostly shoot on my phone” to “I’ve got a full static-site gallery setup.”
No need to RSVP; just show up!
P.S.
