This will be a writing focused session, where we’ll spend the first half of the meetup in discussion.

Our agenda for this week’s discussion is writing tools. Can’t believe we haven’t talked about this yet!

• What’s your favorite writing app? Why do you like it? Do you use different apps for different writing tasks or the same app for everything? Why?
• Do you use style checkers like LanguageTool, Grammarly, or ProWritingAid? How do they affect your writing?
• Do you use LLMs to proofread your work? Why or why not? How do they affect your writing?
• What’s your editing process? Do you edit your work at all, or do you hit publish the moment you type that final line?
• Do you ask your friends or colleagues to proofread your writing before publishing? Do you have a specific editing workflow when you work with other people?
• Are you an outliner or do you write by the seat of your pants? Do you use specific outlining tools?
• Do you write and publish quickly? Or do you accumulate words and ideas in your drafts over weeks and months before you begin writing?
• Do you use voice transcription to write? How does it affect your writing?
• How do you quickly capture writing ideas as you’re going about your day?
• Whatever else you can think of! Have a favorite keyboard to type on? A writing playlist? A desk setup tailor-made for you? A favorite beverage? Presence of a cat? Tell us about it!

We’ll spend the second half of the meetup writing and publishing a piece on our personal websites. We’ll provide writing prompts to get you started.
